We’re excited to announce that Liz Benz is joining Rally Ventures as an Operating Partner. Liz is a longtime Rally Tech Partner with expertise in business development, sales operations and revenue strategy. In her new role, she’ll work directly with our portfolio companies to help them scale.
Liz spent most of her career inside high-growth technology companies, most recently as Chief Sales Officer at Jamf, where she helped take the company from $70M to more than $700M in ARR. Before that, she led sales at Field Nation and held senior roles at Oracle and Digital River.
Liz will work closely with Rally’s portfolio companies on go-to-market strategy and execution, with a particular focus on AI-enabled sales processes. She’ll help founders refine and scale their GTM motion from the earliest stages, drawing on decades of experience leading teams through major growth phases.
Adding an operator of Liz’s caliber to the Rally team is a direct investment in portfolio performance. GTM is where a lot of early-stage companies hit a wall, even when the product is solid. Getting the sales motion right, finding the right buyers and building the right team around it is often what makes or breaks a company. Having someone who has done it at scale working hands-on with our founders hugely strengthens what we can offer across the portfolio.
We asked Liz a few questions about what brought her here and what she’s looking forward to.
You’ve been a Tech Partner with Rally for a while. What made you want to go full-time?
I’ve really loved the work as a Tech Partner: the energy, the problem-solving and helping teams take an idea and make it real. Going full-time just means I get to go deeper. I’ve always been drawn to helping companies scale, and this role gives me the reach to do that with a lot of teams at once.
What kind of work energizes you most right now?
AI-enabled sales processes are at the top of the list. There’s so much opportunity to rethink how sales teams operate, and I want to help our founders get ahead of that. Beyond the strategy side, I also love the people work: hiring the right people and building the right structure around them.
What are you hoping to learn in this next chapter?
I’ve spent my whole career on the GTM side. What I’m genuinely curious about now is the venture side: deal structure, how investment decisions get made and the creative problem-solving that goes into building a great portfolio of companies. I’m looking forward to wearing more hats and learning from the partners and founders I get to work alongside.
